Santiago Siri was supported by Y Combinator and founded ‘Democracy Earth Foundation’ a non-profit organization that is providing incorruptible digital governance for communities, corporations, cities & nations. Santiago currently works on the largest open source effort to deliver a solution to online voting.
In addition, he is working on various public activities in the topic of digital democracy, while supporting and founding diverse organizations. He is the founding member of ‘Partido de la Red (The Net Party)’, a political party to improve the political representation with candidates in politics committed to responding to the requests that citizens suggest online. In addition, he is interested in the changes of digital democracy and has been organizing many activities. Firstly, as a passionate advocate of Bitcoin since 2011, Santiago has been a partner of ‘Bitex.la’, the largest Bitcoin exchange in Latin America and helping startups, e-commerce sites and nonprofits to adopt Bitcoin. Also in 2007, he founded ‘Popego’, a pioneering big data research lab.
Santiago is a member of the ‘Global Shapers’ which is a special community for young leaders made by the World Economic Forum. He has been contributing in radio and television and his first book ‘Hacktivismo’ was published in 2015 by Random House.
