HyoKyung Park is an activist of environmental organization in Korea. Even though she is working as environmentalist, she is ironically poor at water saving. She wants to live with the value that her hard work can benefit to others in her heart. She thinks that environmental activities especially is a matter of attitude and philosophy, not of an issue and advocacy. So she is interested in the way of activism, not of activism itself, but thinking of how to encourage people’s participation based on sympathy and cooperation rather than one-way advocacy.
Green Korea that she is working in is an environmental organization to preserve the Korean peninsula’s ecosystem. They try to protect the nature by having the residents become bodies and coexist with nature. Their activities include site investigation and policy monitoring to protect the mountain area that is ecological axis of the Korean Peninsula and endangered wildlife, campaign for citizen engagement to transform our society to generate safe and sustainable energy, and citizen academy to raise awareness of future generation’s right of environment. All activities of Green Korea is run by citizen donation, so it is an important task for them to inform their activities to donors and encourage their participation.
